Q. How and at what age did you get started/involved in your sport?
A. I started riding a bike with 5 years and racing at 28 years old.

Q. What motivates you to stay fit and competitive?
A. I always been fit and competitive. I know no other way.

Q. What are the major accomplishments of your athletic career thus far?
A.  Three Gold medals at 2011 Senior Games
Two Silver medals at 2010 Pan American Games in Havana, Cuba
Gold in the 20k Road Race at the Master’s National Senior Games (National Champion)
Gold in the 40k Road Race at the Master’s National Senior Games (National Champion)
Bronze in the Time Trial at 2009 Pan American Games in Dominican Republic

Q. Which one of these accomplishments was the most difficult to achieve?
A. The silver medal in the mountain bike cross-country race in 2010 because I flatted twice and crashed once. Or the bronze medal in the mountain bike cross country race in 2009 because my father had just died and I had flown back and forth to his funeral the day before.

Q. Which one are you the most proud of and why?
A.  Winning both road races at the Master’s Senior National Championships in 2009. It was a pretty big deal.

Q. Would you describe a typical training day for us?
A. I race a lot during the season. I’m racing local crits on Tuesday and Thursday, hit the track
track on Wednesdays, and do serious racing on weekends. I go to the gym twice a week, and normally kayak and hit the batting cages on Mondays.

Q.  Why do you use KOOL 'N FIT?
A.  Because it loosens my muscles and warms me up. If my back starts to hurt between races I spray on the sport performance spray and it alleviates the pain. It’s non-oily so it doesn’t stain my gear and goes on easy. I also use it in my bath to relax and recover from the hard bouts.

Q.  Any special application tips / tricks you want to tell us about?
A.  Some people spay it on through their clothes but I like to spray it directly onto the skin.  

Q.  Do you think the average athlete could benefit from KOOL ‘N FIT and why?
A.  Anyone can benefit from it if they’re trying to improve their performance.
